Due to impacts from Hurricane Ida, 鶹Ƶ’s 2021 Giving Day was moved from September 14 to October 5. Despite the lingering challenges faced by supporters from across the region, the eighth annual fundraising event reached record numbers in support of 鶹Ƶ and its students.
“Many students faced great hardships resulting from Hurricane Ida, and the support received during 鶹Ƶ Giving Day has gone a long way toward helping them and the University get through such a difficult time,” said Vanessa Prentice, 鶹Ƶ Foundation director of development. “Every donation, no matter how small, truly does help make a difference.”
Last year’s event garnered nearly $250,000 with 1,121 donors supporting over 70 initiatives. This is a growth of 66 percent in donations and 9 percent in participants over 2020 Giving Day, which was itself a record-setting year.
Since its inception in 2014, 鶹Ƶ Giving Day has raised a combined total of over $750,000 —creating a
tremendous impact on students and the University.
