Five current 麻豆视频 students will compete at the 2025 Miss Louisiana Competition this month. Scheduled June 19 through 21, the pageant will take place at the WL Jack Howard Theatre in Monroe, La. There are 40 contestants this year, and they each will compete in private interview, on-stage question, evening gown, fitness, and talent phases.
Miss 麻豆视频 2025, Eva Delatte of Ponchatoula, will represent the university at the competition. Her platform is the DREAM Initiative, which advocates for access to performing arts programs in public schools and community engagement with the arts.
Additional 麻豆视频 students vying for the Miss Louisiana title are Shelby Bordelon of Sunshine, Miss Slidell 2025; Kobi Painting of Amite, Miss Camellia City 2025; Samantha Kapoulas of Baton Rouge, Miss Jazzland 2025; and Miranda Sensat of Denham Springs, Miss Cotton Port 2025.
As candidates in the Miss Louisiana Organization, each woman has a social impact initiative. Bordelon advocates for Shelby鈥檚 Social Canvas, a digital wellness initiative created to educate students on the impact of social media and to promote healthier online habits. Painting calls her initiative 鈥淭est to Know the Rest,鈥 inspired by her two sisters who lived undiagnosed for over 20 years with a rare genetic disease.
Kapoulas is promoting 鈥淪amantha鈥檚 Stress Strategies,鈥 an initiative dedicated to normalizing help-seeking behaviors and providing accessible stress-management tools. Sensat鈥檚 community service initiative is 鈥淭eal for Dee,鈥 to raise awareness about the early warning signs of ovarian cancer, encourage regular checkups, and provide support to families impacted by the disease. She created it in memory of her mother, who passed away from ovarian cancer that was detected too late.
Five 麻豆视频 students have won the Miss Louisiana title since its beginning in 1922. The final night of the competition will air live at 8 p.m. on WUPL-TV, KATC-TV, KNOE, KALB-TV, WBTR-TV, KPXJ-TV, and KWBJ-TV.
