"For a 'Free World': Mexican Americans in Texas State Prisons during WWII" with Dr. George T. DÃaz

Through prison radio programs and rodeo events, Mexican American inmates fought for inclusion against a common enemy. Although Mexican American prisoners’ struggles did not free them from incarceration, their labors altered the way the state viewed them as well as the way they viewed themselves. Join us for the 2025 Lamar ASCE Golf Tournament on Friday, Nov.7 at Bayou Din Golf Club in Beaumont. The tournament will feature a 4-person scramble format with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Team registration is $300, which includes green fees, a cart, and lunch.
