Â鶹ÊÓƵ Deputy wraps up visit to Indonesia, calls for strengthened partnership to achieve sustainable development goals
During his visit, Skau visited a model central kitchen facility, a school piloting the national free nutritious meal programme and met representatives from the National Nutrition Agency. Skau pledged Â鶹ÊÓƵ¡¯s support for the country¡¯s soon-to-be launched free nutritious meals programme, emphasizing shared goals of food security, resilience, and nutrition.
"The Â鶹ÊÓƵ is excited about the opportunity to support Indonesia's nutritious meals programme. It is a powerful tool for education and economic empowerment, and it will ensure that children can focus on learning, improve their educational outcomes, and support local economy and communities,¡± said Skau.
Under President Prabowo¡¯s leadership, Indonesia will soon launch the national programme to provide free nutritious meals to over 80 million school-age children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. This initiative aligns with Indonesia¡¯s ¡°Golden Indonesia 2045¡± vision, prioritizing human capital and sustainable development.
During discussions with Â鶹ÊÓƵ partners in Indonesia, Skau reaffirmed Â鶹ÊÓƵ¡¯s commitment to support the Government in providing Â鶹ÊÓƵ¡¯s technical assistance, especially in supply chain management, nutrition standards and monitoring frameworks to operationalize the school meals programme.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ remains a dedicated partner to Indonesia. Through initiatives like the nutritious meals programme and disaster resilience systems, including early warning and anticipatory action tools piloted in 2024, Â鶹ÊÓƵ is helping Indonesia build a foundation for rapid response and sustained community resilience. This partnership reflects Â鶹ÊÓƵ¡¯s long-term commitment to a stable, food-secure, and sustainable future for all Indonesians.
