Â鶹ÊÓƵ Centennial Mark

A Century of Impact.
A Future of Promise.

As Â鶹ÊÓƵ begins its second century, we celebrate what we’ve accomplished and look forward to what is yet to come.

For 100 years Â鶹ÊÓƵ has provided a life-changing impact through a second-to-none education conferred by highly accomplished faculty who take the time to care about each student.

In the coming semesters, it’s time for the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Family to celebrate a century of impact and work together to envision a future just as incredible.

Support Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s $100 Million Fundraising Campaign

The Campaign for Â鶹ÊÓƵ is a $100 million initiative, the largest in the University’s history, to ensure a strong future that changes the lives of generations to come, builds a strong economy for our region and state and provides cultural and athletic experiences that add the depth of life.

Join the Celebration

Â鶹ÊÓƵ will celebrate its centennial from September 2024 to December 2025. Encompassing the marking of our 100th entering class of students in the fall of 2024 as well as our 100th graduating class in the spring of 2025, culminating with the celebration of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s 100th birthday in the fall of 2025, there will be something for everyone to take part in this historic moment.

Put Your Name in the History Book

We’ve created the Centennial Book, which will travel to centennial events that take place throughout the celebration. Anyone who attends an event will be invited to sign it — at each event they attend. This book will be placed in the historical archives as a permanent record of our time together in commemoration, celebration and support.

From Vision to Reality

After nearly a year of lobbying, planning, and recruiting by Linus A. Sims and fellow supporters, the institution that would eventually become Â鶹ÊÓƵ first opened its doors on September 14. Named Hammond Junior College, it was housed in two rooms in the then Hammond High School, with Sims as the first president.
