What to Do If You’re Injured at Work?

  1. Tell Your Supervisor Right Away Report the injury as soon as it happens. Quick reporting helps protect your eligibility for benefits.
  2. Get Medical Help If needed, seek treatment from a provider who accepts Workers’ Compensation. Let them know your injury is work-related and covered by the State Office of Risk Management (SORM). If this is an emergency contact Lamar Police Department at 911 or 409-880-7777 or go to the nearest emergency room.

To find a Health Care Network provider:

  • Go to

  • Choose "Careworks TX HCN" from menu 
  • Choose “Address Search”
  • Enter TX for state and enter the zip code
  • Enter distance in miles 

For Provider Type, choose “Treating Providers” then click on "Find Providers" button at the bottom.
