Get There:
Into Caring for Animals

Rachel Rodrigue

Chasing her dreams with a passion for animals, integrative biology major Rachel Rodrigue is developing a resume to earn her dream job as a large exotic animal veterinarian.

Rachel Rodrigue

When Rachel lost her cat Phoebe in her junior year of high school, she began to work as a volunteer in animal shelters to help other cats find their future homes. This love for animals developed into a desire to devote her life to caring for larger felines.

Still an undergraduate, Rachel has already spent years working in several shelters and animal clinics, including the Saints SPCA shelter and the National Tiger Sanctuary. She’s been learning first-hand how to properly care for a multitude of animals, from the household cat to more exotic lions and tigers. This experience along with her academic success at Â鶹ÊÓƵ is allowing Rachel to propel herself into her dream job of becoming a veterinarian.
