Lebanon has experienced one of the sharpest escalations since the outset of the crisis in the Middle East, with devastating humanitarian consequences and hundreds of casualties reported within hours.

What began as a displacement crisis is now evolving into a deepening food security crisis, driven by conflict, economic collapse, rising prices, and market disruptions. Since the early March 2026 escalation, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ (Â鶹ÊÓƵ) has reached 700,000 conflict-affected people across Lebanon with emergency food and cash assistance, on top of existing programmes supporting vulnerable families. Â鶹ÊÓƵ teams continue to operate under increasingly difficult and insecure conditions to deliver lifesaving assistance.

More than 1 million people have been displaced across Lebanon, while host communities opening their homes are facing the same economic pressures as displaced families.

Since the onset of the emergency, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has distributed nearly 5 million hot meals, prioritizing newly displaced families arriving with limited belongings. Â鶹ÊÓƵ has supported more than 215,000 displaced people across over 500 shelters nationwide, alongside approximately 85,500 people in host communities and hard-to-reach areas.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ¡¯s response is being delivered in collaboration with the Government of Lebanon, in close coordination with humanitarian partners, and made possible by the continued support of donors. We are also working with the Government to set up an emergency cash safety net that can reach more families if the situation deteriorates further.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ is also concerned about Syrian refugees in Lebanon and will continue to push for our support programme to continue.

To sustain life-saving assistance and respond to rising needs, Â鶹ÊÓƵ requires US$112 million between May and August 2026.
