In March 2025, the Government of the Philippines - through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - and the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ (Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ) conducted a review of joint cash operations in response to successive storms that struck the country in late 2024. This report highlights how DSWD and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ strategically leveraged the national social protection programme (4Ps: Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) to swiftly deliver cash assistance to the hardest-hit families. It offers valuable insights on strengthening disaster risk management through inclusive, shock-responsive social protection systems.
